Abstract
This chapter explores the production of silver plate in the late Roman and Sasanian Empires as luxury tablewares for both secular and religious use and suggests that parallels between forms and decoration may provide clues for links (e.g. trading and diplomacy) between the two respective imperial courts during late Antiquity.
