Abstract
Coins of the Bactrian and Indo-Greek ruler (BIGR) is a new digital typology of Graeco-Bactrian and Indo-Greek coinages covering the mid-third century bc to the early first century ad. The online portal gathers together coins from major international collections, many of which have been digitized for the first time, to provide a new resource for the study of the history of the period. This paper introduces BIGR and discusses some of the opportunities for further research that it provides.
