Interpersonal violence in the Late Pleistocene: a comprehensive reanalysis of the Nile Valley cemetery of Jebel Sahaba

Abstract
The Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene period are punctuated by major climatic changes whose effects on human populations remain poorly understood. In the Nile Valley, possible refuge areas during the periods of high climatic constraints, hyper-arid environmental conditions are documented until the onset of the Holocene. Dated to the terminal phase of the Late Pleistocene, the Jebel Sahaba archaeological site 117 is the earliest cemetery in the Nile Valley.
