Abstract
This article looks at a pottery assemblage from the emerald processing site of Kab Marfu'a in the Eastern Desert of Egypt. Dating primarily between the second and fourth centuries AD, it is functionally unusual, comprising a high percentage of imported amphorae and vessels for storage and pouring.
